Jade dr Bruyn

Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist,
Supervised By Camille Black, LMFT

Jade de Bruyn is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) who works primarily with children, teens, and young adults. She has a particular passion for supporting adolescents navigating trauma, neurodivergence, emotional and behavioral challenges, and complex family or life circumstances.

Jade brings extensive experience working with adolescents with higher-acuity mental health needs, including several years in residential treatment settings. She understands that behaviors such as anger, withdrawal, school refusal, self-harm, or difficulty in relationships often have something deeper underneath them. Her trauma-focused background allows her to help young people and families make sense of these patterns while building healthier ways to cope, communicate, and connect.

Jade also has a special interest in working with neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD and autism. She takes a neurodivergent-affirming approach that focuses on understanding each person’s individual needs and strengths rather than expecting them to fit into a particular mold.

Her experience includes working with young people and families impacted by foster care, disabilities and chronic illness, immigration and first-generation experiences, as well as school, child welfare, juvenile justice, and court systems. This broader perspective helps Jade understand the many factors that can shape a young person’s mental health and family relationships.

Her work is trauma-informed and incorporates DBT-based skills when helpful.

Jade approaches therapy with an understanding that trust takes time. She strives to create a space where young people can feel understood and accepted while developing the skills and confidence to better navigate their lives and relationships.
